Workman Truck Equipment

Workman Truck Equipment

Ben Workman & his father Thomas Leavitt Workman founded TL Workman & Sons in 1942 in Woodburn Oregon. They were innovators in the hydraulic industry with their 'Duo-Lift' hoist, and continued to improve their designs over the decades. As a young man in the 1960's Curt Workman, who currently still operates the truck equipment manufacturing portion of Valley Fab/Valley Workman, worked along side his father and grandfather. In 1977 BH Workman and Sons Inc. re-opened in Prineville Oregon with Ben and Curt running things side-by-side. Growth continued as product lines were added, soon we were building flatbeds, hoists, dump truck bodies, trailers and all manner of truck equipment.  Curt's sons Sunny and Sam worked with him and their grandfather Ben until he passed away in 2007. When the economy took a turn for the worse in 2008 the family members branched out and went in some different directions, while still working together in the shop to make things continue to happen. In 2012 Curt was introduced to the owners of Valley Fab Corp, and soon they decided they would mutually benefit by joining together, and BH Workman and Sons closed it's doors in Prineville, moving to Brooks Oregon, which is less than 5 miles down highway 99E from the shop where TL Workman & Sons operated in the 1960's and 70's. (If you look closely at the side of the silver building as you enter the city of Woodburn on highway 99E from the south you can read the words "WORKMAN HOISTS" through the existing paint. So you can say Workman and Sons have come full circle, and are back to their roots geographically, we have never strayed from our roots regarding our dedication to manufacturing quality equipment.

Currently Curt Workman and his son Sunny Workman are involved in the daily operations of Valley Workman. Sunny is the sales force and Curt manages the daily manufacturing operations.

Workman products have proven themselves to be dependable, versatile, and sturdy – from the anti-twist scissor hoist to the double wall constructed dump bodies made of the strongest materials in the industry.
